Welcome to Maryland Sustainability Engineering
Maryland Sustainability Engineering is an organization dedicated to sustainable development locally and abroad.
In the past, MDSE has completed on-campus bioretention projects intended to combat pollution in the Anacostia watershed. MDSE has also designed and implemented a solar powered drip irrigation system for the Peace and Friendship garden. As well as installed a solar array at the Abigail D. Butscher Primary School in Calaba Town, Sierra Leone.
Currently, MDSE is working with Greenbelt Middle School in creating lesson plans with instructional and hands-on aspects to enhance environmental education. Locally, MDSE is working to helping an area on campus affected by erosion; a series of bioretention cells are being designed to combat the problem.
